Bourne Woods Discovery Trail

  • The Great Bourne Community Old Frensham Road Farnham, England, GU10 3PR United Kingdom (map)

Have you discovered the World War II Spigot Mortar emplacement in the Bourne Woods?

The Spigot Mortar emplacement is a pit (or emplacement) surrounding a concrete pedestal which was used to mount a Spigot Mortar. The Spigot Mortar was an anti tank weapon used in WWII by the Home Guard. More information about Spigot Mortars can be found here.

Our downloadable map shows you how to find this piece of history in our woods. The What3Words location is brew.thrillers.washable. We also recommend using the maps.me app which shows you footpaths often not included in other maps.

To keep you occupied on your walk, our NEW Listening Trail card can also be printed off or collected from the Coffee Can on the Green.
