Friday night cricket is back!
We’re all very excited about Friday cricket starting back up again soon. Below you’ll find all your questions answered by Nick Hales of the Bourne CC who is leading the programme in 2021.
When will coaching sessions take place this summer?
Sessions will take place on Friday evenings from 7 May to 16 July inclusive. There will be no session during half term (4 June).
School Years 1 and 2 - from 6pm to 7pm
School Years 3, 4 and 5 - from 7pm to 8pm
How much is Junior membership?
Junior membership this year is £95 and includes family membership of the cricket club, which allows any family member to purchase food and drinks from the clubhouse throughout the year. Additionally, all of the children taking part this year receive a personalised Bourne CC T20 shirt.
Are places still available on the programme?
We are now at full capacity but if you would like your player to go on a waiting list then please contact Nick (details below).
Who will provide the coaching?
The coaching will be led by Steve Bucksey from Supersportz (https://supersportz.co.uk) assisted by Isaac Morse who plays for the Bourne 1st XI and is an ECB Level 2 coach. We are also fortunate to have a number of willing assistant coaches - a mixture of 1st XI senior players and parents.
Will I need to purchase kit/equipment?
Friday evening coaching will be softball based and all equipment will be provided by Supersportz and/or the club.
Might there be an opportunity to hold further sessions beyond those planned?
We are very much to open to this should there be sufficient interest. A summer camp during the school holidays is also a viable option.
Will the bar be open during Friday night coaching?
A burning question for some, I’m sure! The plan is to run the first two Fridays without a bar and then, hopefully, add this feature to the evening.
