Alice Holt Forest

Alice Holt has something for everyone, whether you are looking for an exciting treetop adventure or a tranquil journey through the trees looking out for our wildlife, we know you will love your visit. We have lots of different trails and play areas for you to discover as well as our Gruffalo sculptures. Come and find the characters in their new woodland home on our Willows Green Trail.

You can walk, cycle, play or have a picnic in these lovely woods. Find the wooden sculptures which younger visitors can climb and enjoy, the Timberline Trail. Experience life in the trees with Go Ape, take a relaxing break in the café and finish your visit with a quiet stroll in one of the more remote parts of the forest. Hire bikes or bring your own there is a family cycle trail to discover.

Alice Holt is free to visit, just car parking charges to pay for your day out. An annual car parking pass makes excellent value if you live locally. And with rooms to hire you can now hold an event or party here in the Farnham countryside.

Alice Holt Forest is open everyday (except Christmas Day)

8am- 5pm (December-February),

8am - 6pm (March), 7pm(April),

8am - 9pm (May- Spetember),

8am - 7pm (October) and

8am - 6pm (November)


Our car park and toilets remain open, but please be  aware you may need to  be  prepared to make the  necessary  decision  to  turn around  if the car park looks busy, or is full,  and come another time.  

Our main playground, Playwood and our Timberline Trail are currently open. On our Habitat Trail, the Dormouse is open, but the Owl, Woodpecker and Tunnels remain closed.  

The cafe is open for take away food and drink only. Bike hire and archery have been withdrawn.

We are operating as a cashless site. Please ensure you can pay for parking and other purchases by card.

We urge people to leave nothing behind that could harm the beauty of the forest, please take your litter home and dispose of it there, not forgetting to recycle what you can of course!

No portable barbecues, disposable barbecues, fires or camp stoves are allowed at Alice Holt Forest. 

When you  visit the nation’s forests, remember it is your responsibility to follow the new guidance on  staying safe outside your home. We are cleaning our car parking machines throughout the day but for your own safety please bring hand sanitiser with you to use after touching the machines.
